November 22-25 Math and Art

Projet Oral - Les présentations

We completed a guided drawing of two birds for our class logo and added in a rainbow with the colours in the correct order!  A lot of Social Studies and a little bit of Science.

The students continue to participate in Daily 5 to work with words or read, read, read.  The Grade One's have learned all the simple letter sounds with the actions!

In Math, we continued our work on numeracy plus practised sorting by one or two attributes.  The students practised the learned skills in centres called Daily 3 (3 au quotidien).  We also made patterns with various manipulatives; if was fun!

In Science, we are continuing our study of hot and cold by reading thermometers.  Each child made a simple replica of a thermometer; they use it to show the temperature that is asked for.  As well, we used real thermometers to see the temperature in our classroom, outside, under our arms and under our legs!  The students have now placed thermometers around the school in places that they thought might have different temperatures.  We will be checking on the temperatures in the coming weeks and wondering what has caused the changes!  Look for pictures next week.

Have a wonderful week, Mme Pelletier
